Alpinestars Unveils Next-Gen Tech 7 Enduro Drystar Boots
One of the brand’s best-selling enduro boots gets a complete overhaul.
Alpinestars has announced the next generation of its Tech 7 Enduro Drystar boots, bringing a ground‑up redesign to one of the brand’s most popular waterproof enduro models. The Tech 7 Enduro Drystar has long promised a blend of motocross‑level protection with all‑day comfort — a combination built for riders who regularly face wet trails, mud, and longer journeys. For 2026, Alpinestars keeps that formula but introduces an all-new chassis as well as a host of structural, protection, and usability upgrades.

Enhanced Protection Features
The new Tech 7 Enduro Drystar receives a complete chassis overhaul. The new exoskeleton is designed to offer increased support and impact protection while maintaining the familiar out‑of‑the‑box comfort the model is known for.

Protection has been increased in several key areas. The back of the calf now benefits from reinforced TPU, while a new TPU bridge around the ankle and Achilles tendon helps limit hyperextension and boosts overall impact resistance. The front flexion system, borrowed from the Tech 10 Enduro, acts like a progressive shock absorber to reduce over‑compression during hard impacts.
Fit & Usability Improvements
The redesigned closure system features polymer buckles plus an aluminum frame with self-aligning, quick release closures. The system promises a customized secure fitment and smoother operation with better self‑cleaning properties. In addition, the top buckle accommodates wider calves, and the strap holder allows vertical movement to better adapt to leg position while riding.

A new midsole wear‑indicator system provides clear visual cues for when the sole needs replacement: a red layer signals that it’s nearing time for service, while a yellow layer indicates immediate replacement is needed.
Updated Enduro Sole
Both the Tech 7 Enduro and Tech 7 Enduro Drystar receive an updated enduro‑specific sole for 2026. The new dual‑compound design incorporates horizontal ribbing at the toe, which Alpinestars says creates a suction effect on smooth surfaces. The goal is to improve traction during technical maneuvers, especially on slippery rocks, logs, or hard‑packed clay.

The new model also receives a flatter sole with a revised toe angle, lowering it compared to the motocross‑focused standard Tech 7. This flatter angle reduces unwanted roll and offers a more planted feel on the pegs for enduro riders who frequently shift weight and navigate technical terrain.
Refined Double‑Pivot System
Alpinestars also added a new medial and lateral pivot system at the ankle. The redesigned double‑pivot hinge is intended to deliver improved flexibility and more precise control during weight shifts in technical riding situations.

But why would you buy them ? Any quick search shows the drystar membrane is poor and the current ones leak like a net bag, next to no support from alpinestars. At least with any goretex boot there a a guarantee, and the tech 7 are about the same price !!!
Oh, no, I’m so done with this company! Bought a jacket and the wind would split the zipper open in the middle, they fixed it on my dime and 3 short months later, I get it back with a very poorly done repair, AND with the same defective zipper! Read up on the horror stories about warranty service and I promise you’ll change your mind real quick.
I must be the exception, I bought these 2 years ago and they leaked as of they didn’t have the liner in them. I contacted Rocky mountain ADV to get them replaced under warranty Rocky mountain told me they weren’t guaranteed waterproofing wouldn’t do a thing. I contacted Alpinestar warranty department they asked me to send the boots in which I did and they sent me back a brand new pair and they have been waterproof for the last 2 years on any trips for the bdrs as well as South America rides.
